I was born in Ozark, Missouri, and resided there until attending college and graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1991. I then proceeded to attend law school at Pepperdine University, graduating in 1994. My immediate family consists of my wife, Sue, and our two daughters, Brianna and Madison. Many of you also may know my parents, Kerwin and Carolyn Russell, who are part-time residents and also attend Surprise Church of Christ.
I have been a member of various Church of Christ congregations throughout my life as I lived in Missouri, California, Arizona, Minnesota, Nevada and back to Arizona. We most recently moved to Surprise in 2008 and attended West Olive Church of Christ until becoming associated with Surprise Church of Christ last year. I am currently a sole-practitioner lawyer focused primarily on business law, while Sue is a first-grade teacher where both of our girls also attend. With daughters who play sports, most of my free time is spent coaching or watching our girls play softball and volleyball. In the small gaps of time that they are not playing sports, I also play softball with several other members of Surprise Church of Christ. I am currently serving as treasurer for the Surpise congregation.
